PostSubject: My empty nest is not so empty!   April 20th 2011, 18:10

So my sister and her family have been visiting from California. They have been here for 3 weeks and have one more week to go. There are four kids, age 15, 9, 6 and 1 year. Needless to say, this empty nest has not been empty this month! CRAZY!!!!

I just think it's funny that while my sister is only four years younger than I, we are at very different places in life. I have one child who is already married and my sister has all four kids at home with still years to go before she has an empty nest. On one hand it makes me feel old and yet on the other, I'm glad I'm where I'm at! LOL

I love the kids like they were my own,: Love but I'm glad I'm past the point of having little kids in the house! Does that make me sound old???

Off to clean the peanut butter off the wall! lol!
(I'm really kidding, they're are actually very well behaved kids!)

LOL - awww Sheri! I bet you are enjoying this time but I totally get what you are saying and I"m nowhere near an empty nest - heck...I'm starting again on another little one! bwahahaha

but my mom says the same thing when my sister goes over to visit. She loves us and the grandkids but she has BTDT and can't imagine the hustle and bustle and schedules she used to have to work with. Funny how we can settle into different stages of life! Enjoy the remaining time with your Sis and her kids! Heart U Heart U

Awww! Enjoy your time with them - I'm sure it's insane (but in a wonderful way) in your home right now!

sheri ... wow, 3 weeks is a long visit! Smile
sounds like my situation vs. my older brother in laws situation... I've got a college Jr. and a married son, and my bil who is 2 years older than us has a 9 year old.
