but it sure has been hard. As a Mother's Day gift I went to a VERY expensive salon and got quite a bit done.

A pedicure
A manicure/acrylics
A Haircut
A Dye Job

Ok let me start by saying usually Mother's Day comes and goes and I never even bother.
I actually went to beauty school so for 15 years I cut my own hair and dye it myself.

But with Damien's persistence I made the appt. and went.

Got my pedicure just fine
Than went to get my nails done and the Lady looks at me and says "Are you sure you want Acrylics?" "WE HARDLY DO THEM HERE!" I sorta was tripping in my head quietly but it was really an awkward moment to decline to have them done.
Well she managed to get them done and they look ok ..... price was $65 but I only have 3 nails in one week left which I plan on ripping out tonight.

So than I got my cut and I do like it but for my hair color I asked for a simple root job and than some purple highlights ..... price was $120
Well you can't see any purple and she did not do my roots but my entire hair a brown color that covered up my highlights.

uugghhhhh I don't think I will EVER be back to a salon and will continue doing it myself. I get exactly what I want usually and for a fraction of the price.

Now I am trying to keep myself from getting bitter at all the money I spent !

Any one else have a bad experience ever ?

xoxo

Oh that stinks! I did and I called them back and they fixed it. I think you should call her back. Most places are pretty good and want you to be happy.

You didn't get what you asked for and you tried it for a couple days. That is a lot of money not to be happy. I am so sorry for you Sad

oh what a bummer!

I am a do-it-yourself beauty person as well, except for my friend that colors my hair and highlights it. she is really good.

but my last episode with nails, well it is much like yours. I will never ever do anything except totally natural nails for the rest of my life because they RUINED my nails. at first I thought it was nice but the cost is too much and the damage is so ugly.

I feel your pain

I'm so sorry, Norma, I hate when things like that happen! I agree with Ellen, I would definitely call them back and tell them you are not happy. I've had a few issues like this but the salon has always worked with me until I'm satisfied.

I did considered calling back.... but I am so worried on what it could mean to
the designer who cut and dyed my hair. I really liked her alot and worried
how it could effect her job.

Ohhh the stress of it all !!!!

oh girl! That sucks! But I would DEFINITELY be calling back!! I don't think her job would be in jeopardy but you definitely need to let them know you didn't get what you asked for! And for your nails to cost $65 to only have 3 left after 3 days???? Um...wow. They need to just refund you that money and fix your highlights.

Then I wouldn't be back and continue to do your own hair. I would consider calling back in about this doing a service for not only the salon but for future customers. If this is how they are comfortable representing their salon they will not be in business long.

Oooh yea... I'm like you... I'd be worrying over that too. I'm really sorry such an expensive salon did a sucky job for you! That's a shame, Norma. I have never had my hair professionally colored and come to think of it, I've never had a mani or a pedi! My hubby always says I'm low maintenance and he likes it that way, lol!

Sad
i'd for sure be calling them back. i'm sure you'd be nice about it when you called them back and explain the situations.

acrylics usually last a good 2 weeks ... for about 1/3 the price that they charged you!

i'm with renee, you letting them know there was a problem will maybe help in better service to other customers in the future. i wouldn't think the stylist would be in jeopardy of losing her job ... and she'd probably appreciate knowing how she could make you, as her customer, happy.

i'm impressed that you normally do your own cut and color. Smile i would look like a hot mess if i tried cutting or coloring my hair. heeheee. yours always looks beautiful Smile

Stinks to put that much money out and not be happy with the results. I would have to call them back. Tell them if you wanted nails that only lasted a few days you would have gotten Lee Press On Nails. Wink

As far as the stylist...she may be nice but if she's not listening to clients then she's not doing her job. You might not be the only client that has left her chair unhappy. The salon should probably know.
