... good fresh fruit sure is hard to find in the grocery stores around here. i'm thinking it is from all the harsh weather in the past couple months. i went to 3 different stores for strawberries and oranges and couldn't find good ones anywhere. Sad

I'm able to find it, but need to break open my piggy bank to purchase it. =P Everything is so expensive because of the cost of shipping it. I'll be watching for the farmer's markets to start opening up this spring so I can buy locally!

I get all my produce from a local food co-op...I LOVE it! It's always fresh an so much cheaper!

bountifulbaskets.org is the one that I participate in. They don't come to Indiana but they come to most of the western states.

Maybe there is a food co-op in your area?

Oh I know our produce hasn't been good at all here in the grocery stores. Think I'm going to have to go to our local farmers market to get anything decent!

I can relate Carrie! We don't have many (if any) farmer's markets out here. I miss good fruit.

Can't wait! Where are these little Amish markets Carrie? That would be a great trip for me but so worth it if I can find good fruit!

I'll be buying clementines and whatever else I can find tomorrow.

I personally can't want for the pears to be fresh in stores or at the markets! Strawberries too!

Garsy, there are several Amish farms that have little veggie and fruit stands in the Leo/Grabill area. They are different each year ... ya just have to drive around and find them since they are different each year.

Strawberries and blueberries -- 2 packages for $3 yesterday at local Scotts and Kroger stores!

Thanks Carrie!

Blessings,
