do you ever take scrappy things with you on vacation?

next week i'm going along with my hubby for a work convention in indianapolis. we'll be there from monday night through thursday afternoon. i'll be on my own during the day ... i'll do a little shopping at a very cool downtown mall, and probably take in an afternoon movie, but i don't have the funds to shop everyday...

so i'm going to take a couple small scrappy projects with me to work on in the hotel. a day of scrapping with NO laundry, house cleaning and cooking to distract me sounds heavenly! looking forward to it!

I don't take anything to scrap while traveling. I always take my scrappy magazines, of course. At this time in my life (with two young kids) it's all I can do to get the necessities packed.

Have fun in Indy!!! Smile

that's the great thing about digital!

I take loads of pictures while we are gone and work on a few digital projects with them, then print things out and finish up when we get home.

I did bring lots of crafting things too this time since we drove, my girls love to make beaded necklaces and things, and it keeps them busy.

i don't normally but if i was on my own with brain on a trip for work, i def. would. but a vacay with the family, i wouldn't.

i agree, kristi! i digi makes you more mobile, LOL!

i bring photos with me to edit and do blog headers. that is the extent of my digi but it makes the time go by. I do that kinda stuff in the airport and on the plane.

I don't usually take scrapbooking stuff on a trip just because I usually don't have time to do it while we're gone since we have plans made for the trip. However, the one exception is when we used to take our RV on trips to the resort. We used to just spend the days relaxing and doing whatever came up....then I would pack a few necessity items for scrapping. I used to just LOVE spreading it out at the table with the doors and windows open and the ocean breeze blowing through, while I worked on my favorite hobby!!! (Can you tell I'm missing that?)

I love the idea of taking a small bit of scrappy supplies, to document the trip though. I love what Amy Tangerine did for her trip...here's a link

Have a great time on your trip....whether you take supplies or not!

That sounds heavenly Carrie! I don't take scrappy stuff with me; it's just too much stuff to pack with the kiddos and all their stuff. Maybe someday....

i don't consider taking my scrappy stuff with me on vacation ... just these little getaway days when hubby is at a convention or conference and it's just me, myself and i to spend time with. Smile
