PostSubject: Scrapbook Room Organization   August 6th 2011, 23:36

It seems that I am always re-doing this dog-on room.

So as I was looking tonight look what I found:

they drilled holes in the cup and used twist ties to attach them
to the peg board.... CLEVER!

I found it on flickr with a brief description other wise I would
have linked it up.

I am also looking for an inexpensive way to store my acrylic stamps.
Any ideas?

that is such a good idea!

my clear stamps are all in a drawer, nothing special - I'd be interested to see what good ideas there are for stamps organization

I struggled with storing my acrylic stamps, too. I ended up using some 8x8 page protectors and a couple of small baskets from Hobby Lobby. I cut some cardstock to fit in the page protectors nd then stapled one side of the packages or plastic backing of the acrylic stamps to the cardstock. (That way I could open the package or peel off the top plastic covering to get to the stamps.) The stamps are grouped by category - sentiments/words, flowers, journaling blocks, travel, etc - and filed in these baskets on a shelf above my work area. It's not a perfect solution, but it has encouraged me to use my stamps more because they're in some kind of order, and easy to grab when I'm working on a project.

That IS clever! I love how it's clean and streamlined.

I store my acrylic stamps one of two ways for the most part. Some are in TH binders, and some, (smaller sets), have been transferred to cd tins and are stored in a drawer. I buy the tins in bulk, so they are pretty affordable. Or you could even used the clear plastic cd cases.

I've also come across ideas where people have used binders with simple page protectors to tuck there acrylic stamps in. You could create your own dividers to organize them by theme or manufacturer. Or how about a decorative photo/shoe box? Again you could create your own dividers...

You could also do what this lady did...

Oh I need some cool organization tips. i'm using a small corner of the master bedroom right now....super small space but it's the only place that is working for me right now. Someday...when we get our basement finished I'll have a crafting office but for now i'm cramming into a small corner *sigh*

I just purchased these: http://www.studiocalico.com/store/supplies/storage-panels

They are supposed to arrive tomorrow, so hopefully they will help with my acrylic stamp storage.

I saw those Rachel and wondered how well they work. You have to tell us how you like them!

I pulled them out yesterday and started putting my stamps on them. I really like having my acrylic stamps in one spot, they do take up a lot less room (without all the packaging), and I finally know what all I have. And, they will be much easier to put away (instead of trying to cram them back into the original packaging.)

What I haven't figured out yet, is the stamps from one page tend to stick to the next-probably because several of the stamps I haven't used and they are still sticky/new. I think I might put a page protector in between each page. The other bummer is that it is hard to see exactly what all the stamps are (especially words) because the stamps are clear and don't have the index sheet on them any more. I am saving the index sheets in a pocket in the binder I am using (that way I can lay the index sheet on my project to see if I will like that image on that project), but am thinking about stamping all the stamps onto paper I will put in the page protector I am putting in between each page so that I can really see what I have.

It is definitely better than the system I had of packages of stamps just thrown into three little cubbies where I couldn't see what I had at all.

I had NO idea I had so many stamps!!! One package was NOT enough-I need another!

Hopefully that helps you decide if they will work for you!

Sounds like you have a good plan! I was wondering about the index sheets but you answered that question! I didn't think I had that many stamps until I pulled a few out for one of the card challenges! More than I thought! And I don't consider myself a stamper! lol

I heard others talking about them Rach on SC site. I'm afraid it would cost me a small fortune to go that route.
I keep all my accrylic stamps on a clip it up, I just slide them in a plastic bag I get from the dollar store and clip them on.

Oh that's a good idea too! The clip it up! Right now, mine are just stored in canvas bins on my bookshelf but I'm getting too many for that now.

I saw on Ali Edwards site today as she was sharing her Week In The Life album, there was a shot of her stamps that looked like they were on pages on rings but it didn't appear like a binder. Thought that looked interesting!

yeah, I don't know that it would work if you have a ton. My collection is still mainly wood-mounted, so just two packages will work for me. Don't know if it is the BEST solution, but it is better than what I had! Smile
