PostSubject: Back to the grind   September 12th 2011, 10:40

So I am off to the basement to clean up the dirt from the water we got.

Not sure if you have been watching the news but PA and NY got devastating rain. People lost everything around here...it's really, really scary.

Just thankful we are okay. Brian's boss lost the first floor of her house! Buses can't get through...it was a crazy week to be away. And my poor mom was here with all of it and the kids.

SO....how I might be MIA for a few more days getting things in order b/c I leave for Scrafest Thursday, LOL

What a crazy few weeks!!!

Wow Ellen, that sounds terrible. So glad you only have dirt to deal with (even though that's not fun)...glad you're all ok. I've seen it on the news and it reminds me of the flood we had here in Nashville in May of last year. Such mass devastation everywhere....whole neighborhoods just wiped out. And the thing I remember was seeing it on the news didn't even begin to compare to how it was when you were driving around on what roads were left. It's an eerie feeling driving down a major thoroughfare in town and seeing dried mud everywhere and abandoned cars left in the middle of the street covered in mud....and branches and debris hanging from telephone and electrical wires. And the smell...I'll never forget that smell.....

I remember it well....our prayers go out to the people of your community.

I hate to hear of so much devastation all around- weather is pretty crazy any more. Glad you are ok though!

Our little town got hit too Ellen. Not as bad as it could have been though and NOWHERE near as bad as some neighboring towns. Hope the cleanup goes smoothly for you. Sorry you had to come home to a mess! (((HUGS)))
