Wow! A/C is certainly on a roll here! After recently partnering with Studio Calico just in the past couple weeks and now this! It seems that American Crafts is taking over the scrapbooking manufacturing world!

Well its smart for AC, especially if they are financially stable then this benefits them a great deal and those other companies as well.

I just hope these lines being acquired keep their "look" because as much as I love AC, I still love variety.

I have to agree with you Sherry !
and as a retailer AC is so large I get overwhelmed looking at all
they offering.

Dogonit.... I really loved Crate!!!!

It also looks like they may be permanently selling Studio Calico too.

Here is the email I got:
Hello CP retailers! We have some exciting news we want to share with you today about
the Crate Paper Brand.

American Crafts has acquired Crate Paper Inc. and we are thrilled and honored to have our
CP brand at home with such an amazing company. American Crafts has created innovative and
beautiful scrapbooking products since the early 1990s. The company has established itself
as a leader in the industry by providing stylish, high-quality products and
responsive customer service. We know that CP will be in good hands.

We had the opportunity to start Crate Paper in 2006 and have enjoyed the journey.
Lisa will remain as creative director over the brand to guide new product development
and maintain the brand's signature style. We have loved being part
of your business and together with the American Crafts team
we look forward to introducing even more spectacular CP lines to craft with!

We are excited be part of the American Crafts Family along with the simply
adorable Pebbles brand and the ultra-trendy Studio Calico brand.

We appreciate you supporting Crate Paper and we hope that you will turn to us to help your
customers continue their passion of paper crafts.

Steve & Lisa Parkin

I am a little bit concerned about that too. While I love A/C, Crate just had a look that I loved. I'm hoping it's not lost in the process!

I am absolutely sure they will keep their brand and what goes along with it. That is what sells Crate and SC...their unique looks. Most companies that buy other companies realize it's all about brand management. They run Pebbles independently so I am thinking it will be the same. I think it is more about distribution and manufacturing. Cosmo was recently bought by Advantus, too.
