So do you have a green thumb?

We moved 5 day lilies this afternoon b/.c they weren't doing well along the road so we transplanted them. I hope they take. Brian tends not like me bossing him around out there, LOL! So I am not sure if he got a enough roots.

Owen planted 10 of his own flowers, too! He likes to be out there. Oh and we got a bird bath, too. I hope see lots of birdies playing out there.

Take pics of that pretty yard Ellen!

I don't have a green thumb. I leave that stuff mainly to dh (Tom). He messed up the shape of one of the bushes last year--BAD "haircut"..it is grown out now so hopefully I can fix it this year.

I actully bought fertalizer and fed the plants and trees last week--pat me on the back! Smile

Actually we don't do too bad, at least with stuff outside. For the last eight years we have had a garden and it does really well thankfully. We are starting to make some changes with the landscapping outside and so I really hope everything makes it. We also planted lots of raspberry starts this year that we got from my in-laws.
Now when it comes to plants inside that is totally a different story. Over the years we have had several plants and normally within a year they are dead. Not sure how I keep killing them but I almost always do. But maybe my luck is changing because three years ago when my dh's brother passed away we received several houshold plants from the viewing and funeral. And for some reason I seem to be doing okay with them.

I'm like you, Sherrie! I tend to do better with outside plants than inside. I bought a hanging plant, two ferns and a potted plant to go on our Patio table this weekend. I have to start from scratch with the back yard. We are hoping to install a pool and deck next summer. I also have a Koi pond that was installed before we moved in. The fish are still in there and doing good but around the pond needs some new rock. I also want to install a fountain and drop some lily pad plants in it.

I love gardening, but whether or not I'm any good at it is debatable! lol!

The new house has flower beds set up, but nothing has come up so it looks like I'm starting from scratch. I'm also going to do a little vegetable garden again this year... tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash...

A bird bath sounds wonderful Ellen!

I like growing things outside, but I have been spoiled by many years of midwest living where you stick it in the ground, and it grows. now that we are more in a desert zone, things really just don't grow the same. you have to water TONS, and a lot of things just don't work. I have several indoor plants that only require watering once a week or so, and they do great.

my daughter and I planted a few flowers in our front bed for her to take care of, and I am hoping if we water them 2x daily, we can keep them alive. Smile

I enjoy gardening. I love flowers and bushes. We have a pretty landscape in front of my home. I also enjoy my veggie garden in summer. I have a "forest" as the hubby calls it in my home as well. Love nature.

I love the look of a gorgeous garden but I'm horrible. Hubby says I have a black thumb! I kill everything. I have one fern on my front porch and I have a hard time remembering to even water that! I'm surprised it's still alive. I've had it one month!

It's the joke around our house when I say I want to go buy flowers....everyone just laughs. Hubby says "Why do you want to put those flowers through that misery?" LOL

Laughing I too have a black thumb. I just bought a bunch of succulents because I am hoping they can stand up to my neglect.
